Australian iTunes Music Store?

Well, if the rumour sites and highly reliable articles from Australian financial institutions are correct, the iTunes Music Store should be available in Australia tomorrow. For most of you reading this, you probably have no idea what it is because we live in Australia and we're a year/month or two behind with what's happening in America (year or month depending on what the actual trend is).

Also many of you know that music piracy is a huge problem for the artists and the entire record industry... so Apple has crafted with the record associations a service available to Americans, citizens of the UK, France and Germany - the iTunes Music Store. It's an online website (if you like) which enables you to browse, listen to samples and purchase legal music. In America it's 99 cents. Apparently in Australia it's supposed to be a dollar too, but that sounds too good to be true.

The catch is you need to download iTunes for free from www.apple.com.au/itunes for both Windows and Mac and browse, purchase and listen to purchased music through the program. Why this catch isn't bad is because iTunes kicks so much ass! It leaves Windows Media Player (WMP) for dust (I know because I have used both products extensively). So even if you're not planning on using ur parent's (or your own) credit card and purchasing music cheap, I still suggest you download iTunes and give it a whirl... I promise you'll like it. It is very easy to use and burns CDs and a whole bunch of other stuff.

If you're anti-Apple and refuse to download it simply for that reason then you're a close-minded fool, to put it quite frankly. If that's true and you'd like to show that Windroids aren't all gutless wonders, prove me wrong! Tell me why, after a period of time of using both pieces of software, you believe Micro$oft's WMP to be superior after using iTunes.
